1. I’ve recently read your online history of Benjamin Meaker and note that there is much that might be included to do justice to this remarkable man. My experience of the Meaker Charities Trust covers 40 years, including knowing well both the main family beneficiaries and the Speechly Bircham lawyer who arranged the bequests. Indeed, I visited Charles Russel Speechly in London yesterday. I had the great experience of overseeing the Raine Island bequest to Australia, and I continue to meet the direct Meaker family survivors (who all migrated to Queensland in the late 1970s). Do you feel it would be helpful if you could direct me to the person in the IAS who might benefit from correspondence? Thank you.
